If there is anyone who can help me please please do.Just bought a used 2004 ram 1500 hemi 4x4 about 45 days ago and last week started having problems.Thought it was the alternator until the ETC light flashed on.Dealer has no idea what it even is he said.Will be driving and coming to a stop or turning corner and it dies.Can put in nuetral and restart but too dangerous to drive as im gonna get rear end.Have 2 year old grandbaby and she will no longer drive in it until i can figure something out.All that i have read on is it about 900. to fix. Its christmas and i am a constructiion worker so no way to come up with that kind of money til summer.If someone could help me out please do.I am desperate.

 

if your throttle light is on and it dies coming to a stop i would replace your throttle or do a throttle re-learn

 

Agreed, i would start with a throttle body. You can buy a used one for 50 +/- on average but only ones off 03 or 04 will work for your 04.

 

I cleaned the throttle body and replaced the EGR valve and pulled fuse and it is running normal so far so good ao hope that was the problem.Thanks for all the help.
