Default Color code wiring

Does anyone know, if changing the pins around on the O2 sensor will keep the engine from firing. It ran before I swapped the color coded wire pins around. Now, all it does is just turn over. No firing.
When we pulled the engine out, one of the O2 sensor's was left hooked up and the pins were pulled out. Put them back in, but, don't know if it was two blk's up or two blk's down. The service manual doesn't tell you.
Any help? Thank you.

Maybe try disconnecting it from the harness plug, resetting the PCM and trying to get it to fire. It wont run right but that might get it to fire....maybe

It would also help to know what year truck and size engine you have. Also need to know which O2 you are talking about.

These are for a 2004 5.7

Sorry. I had stated what kind on another post. It's a 2003 1500 3.7 reg. cab. And it'd the upper unit, closest to the engine. It seems like it wants to fire, but it stops just short of running. Also, it's a rebuilt engine that we put in.

If you just put this engine in then go back and check and double check all the grounds including those that go from the block and heads to chassis or frame.

Here are those for an 03 - 1/1 is drives side front O2

No prob. My thought is it is not O2 related but ground related on that block/heads or PCM harness somewhere

Hey weedahoe, we did everything that we could think of. Double checked the grounds, ran test on the wiring and even tested the cam and crank sensors. All check out good. Still won't start. Sometime it sounds like it wants to take off, but stops short of running. I even checked for spark, I didn't see any, but, it let me know that it was there. Still got a small twitch in my arm. So, we're going to sleep on it tonight. Anything else would help.

I was such work up over this thing, that forgot to mention ,that the only time it did run, was before we hooked the radiator up. After putting everything back together, before putting the radiator in, we started it up and it aran great. We just ran it for a few seconds to se how it ran. Then we put the fan and radiator in and put water in it. Since then nothing.
