Default 2005 Ram Windshield Wiper Issue!!

My windshield wipers stopped on intermittent. When I shut them off they will work for about 20 seconds then shut off. The intermittent will not work and you need to turn it on high or low. I see this is an issue and was wondering if anyone has figured it out!?!?!? Its dangerous to drive, I live in Oregon.....ugh!

Welcome

take the wiper motor out and open the housing....adjust the contact arms, clean off the the old grease, clean the 2 contacts and re-grease and reassemble. Super easy to do...remove 2 screws from either side of the cowl and 5 push tabs along the firewall after removing the wiper arms. With the hood open, bow the cowl to remove to gain access the wiper motor. There are 3 - 10 mil bolts and the 13 mil nut that you need to remove.

See if that helps

both my father and i have 05 ram 1500 4x4 and both have the same problems with our wipers...if they work at all theyre swiping at intermittent intervals. not sure if its the motor, the switch or the module..either ways it sounds expensive and ive already sunk more into this 05 than its worth. was told it may be the FCM but ive ALREADY replaced that because headlights and blinkers went haywire. i will keep u posted on what the garage says may be the problem and hopefully a solution that can save u some $$$. off to the garage once again, last week had to replace 3 pullys and serp belt before that it was the fcm and pdc before that it was 3 sensors. starting to believe this 05 is cursed.

Out of the blue, they decided to work right. I'm just wondering if there was too much condensation in the wiper housing? I was going to take it apart and clean the contacts, but they started to work properly....thanks for the help and ideas everyone!!!
