2500 question
Just bought a 2008 2500 ram,4x4,with a hemi. Does adding a chip and aftermarket air cleaner and lift void my warranty?
I also have a 2005 1500 4x4 with hemi with 155,000 miles on it and no mods other than rims and tires and have never had a problem with it.
Would like any input you have. Thanks
Also what is the best chip and air cleaner to get?

Technically, due to a consumer rights law the modifications you are planning should not cause your warranty to be voided, but IF the dealer/manufacturer can PROVE that the modification(s) caused a particular issue/problem with a warrantied component THEN you would be out of luck.
With that; I have had a Superchips programmer, aftermarket intake tube, and a Magnaflow muffler on my 2005 Ram 2500 for several years, and I have not had any warranty issues.

If you chose to install a controller or "chip" set it back to stock for any trips to the dealer. As far as lift, you might run into warranty issues with the powertrain. i'm guessing your '08 is previously owned so the factory lifetime powertrain warranty is gone, unless your in one of the two states that it transfers to the new owner. CAI shouldn't be a problem. Good luck, happy modding and welcome to DF.
Yes the 2008 is used, 40,000 miles. Came with a 60,000 or 6 year warranty.
Also came with leveling kit installed and nitto 33 in tires all warratied thru dealer.
Didnt think a chip and cai would be a problem, but want tio lift it high but dont want to void the warranty, also dont want to wait for 60,00 miles either.lol
Btw thanks for the input

for the record i work at a dealership and it cracks me up everytime i read about how dealers can tell you have a tuner even if you reset it to stock before you go. its bunk. sometimes we can make a pretty good guess by what problem the truck came in with but there is no way i know of to prove it.
