Default Superchips 3815 Has Failed me!

Well, Today i was fooling around with the modes on my superchips when halfway through the process my superchips goes black. So i unplug the unit after several attempts to power on... and nothing. I attempt to start my truck... Nothing.
Good thing i have a friend who works for chrysler/dodge and was able to reprogram everything for me (back to stock settings)(for free)...
Anyhow, Superchips will not back up the product because i was not the original purchaser (EBAY Failed me yet again)...
Just thought i'd let e veryone know Once you have your truck tuned, DO NOT MESS WITH IT AGAIN... Bad things will happen.
ON another note, im now looking for a 3815 or a 3865 .. Preferrably Unlocked?

PS. its not my truck that wont power the superchips, dealer friend tried on another truck at the dealership and it wouldnt power on there either...

Try plugging the 3815 into your computer and doing an update. My old 3815 died on me one time when I was tuning my truck after updating the unit. Would not power back up no matter what I did. I panic'd thinking I'd be without my truck too, as it wouldn't even attempt to crank. Walked in the house, plugged the unit into my 'puter and went through the update process again. Went out and it programmed the truck flawlessly. Never had another issue with it and sold it in favor of the 3865 a good two years later...

I've tried just about every step imaginable... Superchips walked me through a few others aswell ... The unit itself will not turn on at all. I even tried new cords .... No Luck. Superchips said i can send it back to them to have it repaired but since i did not purchase it from them it would cost me.

Well, my next response WAS going to be to call Superchips, but I guess that is moot...

That sucks, but anything purchased used has that kind of warranty; although, there are many stand-up Companies that honor manufacturer defects even if you aren't the original owner. After all, it doesn't matter who owns it if it's defective!
Go for a 3865, don't bother with the 3815 for your truck. You'll be privied to the trans. shift option for a small fee.

My truck is a stick shift... That option has no benefit to me ... Unless theres any other tuning benefits to the 3865 that i am unaware of.

Well the offered me all of the support they could give me for free. They said i could download a file that would cost me 100$ (Same one they use to unlock locked ones) but That will do me no use for a tuner that does not power on. Im tempted to send it to them to see if they can fix it for under 100$... Sure beats paying 200-300$ for another one.
