just a dumb question, theres a TSB for my truck for an EGR problem (code p0406) , ive heard that even if your vehicle is out of warranty they will still the problem at no cost ( i havnt beenable to makeit back to the dealer to ask, but they would say no either way). just thought id ask.

 

Emissions related issues may be covered longer than other items. For example, the cat converter on my '05 I just bought is warrantied for 8 years!!!

 

At least give them a call and talk to the service manager. The worst he could say is no.
If he does, or if you don't like what he has to say, then fix it yourself. Chances are, you can make the repair for a lot less money.
