Default "lamp out" indicator will not reset

When I first got the indication, I checked all my lights and saw that a license plate lamp was out. I changed it and the indication will not go away. I checked all the light I can think of. I waited hours, and disconnected and reconnected the battery, no change. Then I waited over night. Still no change. When I was finally able to talk to a Dodge dealer, they said the computer had to be reset. (?) What a service visit every time I blow a bulb? Anybody have an idea what's going on? Thanks.
