I would call it a 2.5G at most, its like calling a 96 GTS Viper a 2G when really its just a different version of the 1G RT/10, but yet it also had a different(heavy versus light block) motor that put out 50 HP more, had a different look and power windows, locks and a restyled interior...

The truck is really still the same with the exception of the front end re-style and the stretch behind the cab.

 

Everyone is making such a big deal about the mega cab....... for what, 4 to 6 inches more room????? BFD.

 

So are we getting a gen 3.5 forum? Or keep chatting here about it?

When I see that MEGA CAB it brings back memories of working the road on the DOT crew in the summer... those were the ONLY place you would see a MEGA anything other than the 7-11 with the MEGA Slurpie.... the hottest trucks were the LiL Red Express... ZOOOOM!

 

GREAT POST!! Thanks a lot! Of course I JUST bought a 2005... and I bought a 2001 at the tail end of its generation... man.. I can't win. Not sure I like the new design and I certainly wouldn't buy a first year production anything anyway. Maybe by the time my lease is up I'll be in the market. Looks like a 4th generation to me!

 

I'm waiting for the 6.1L Hemi. Then I will strike!!
