Default 2003 Dodge Ram Engine Swap

Hey, I had a few questions. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab with a 5.7L Hemi. I am going to swap a 5.7 hemi out of my truck for a 2005 5.7. Reason why. Because my engine blew and my friend wrecked his 2005 dodge ram so he was gonna give me his engine with 20,000 on it. I know I am going to have to take swap the PCM and the wiring harnesses also. But will the engine fit or no? Thanks.

It will fit with no issues. It is the same as yours. Mind if i ask how much you are paying and for the PCM and harnesses exactly.

That not bad at all. Ive been looking for a 05 PCM and all the harnesses to do a swap in mine. Please stick around and let us know who the swap goes and what issues, if any, you have. Im curious on the VIN broadcast across the canbus system to various other modules that are programmed with your 03 VIN.

One last questions. I might as well ask. When I swap the engine pcm and harnesses will the truck start throwing codes and running funny?

Default Need Help!! PCM, Engine, Wiring Harness Swap

Hey, I got a response to my earlier post about the 05 hemi. Instead of putting the 05 hemi in my 03 dodge, its an 04 hemi my friend doesnt even know the year of his truck. Anyway, I was able to torch the bolts and pull the engine today. I know I need the pcm and wiring harnesses? Is this going to be a pain in the *** to get out without having to splice? Is there a section on the harnesses and pcm where there are quick disconnects? Thank you.

Why would you need the entire harness just to make it run? If your truck originally came with a hemi, then match up your original sensors and drop it in. Is this an engine swap from a different engine?
