most of the tear down is covered in several other threads, i will try to combine the links and anything i think they are missing into this thread, for anyone attempting to do this mod in the future.

I dont have time at the moment to put captions to the pics, but here they are so i can edit later. I want to try to fill in a few details or things i did not see in the few threads i was following to do this project.
I have the dash back in, and the A/c vacuumed out. i just need to finish up putting the trim pieces back together.
the heater treater doors fit perfect and i am very happy with the additional money spent on them.
i flushed the heater core and it looked pretty nasty, so i will flush the radiator before starting the truck and putting the R134 back in it. i should be done with this project tomorrow.

it looks bad, but honestly, its just a lot of screws and patients. nothing too difficult. i have just the lower dash panel to put on and charge the AC. i ran out of daylight last night after work. i dont drive the truck much, so i am in no hurry.
i will do my write up on this, this weekend. next week starts the ball joints and 2WD leveling project.

ok, here is my take on this project, the intent here is to suppliment to the below links to maybe help someone further their cause....
The two links below are very helpful for disassembly.
http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...d-t210483.html
http://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...-pictures.html
the work was performed on my 03, ram 3500, CTD, Dually
tools:
basic sockets and extensions
metric t handles
open end wrenches
screw drivers
For evac/vac and charge of A/C:
gauges
R134
Vacuum pump
for the AC work, i have a great neighbor who does AC, so he had the vacuum pump for AC.
ok, disassembly. i followed the link from DTS forum. i will add a couple things that i found that were not in there i thought were helpful.
- first, if you are under the hood, you need to remove the electronics box to the left of the accumulator. also loosen the bolts for the accumulator because the AC fittings were a little work to get off. these are like the tools we used. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...fier=2356_0_0_
Moving into the Cab. First before you disconnect your battery terminals, move your electonic seats all the way back. this will help with letting the steering column move all the way to the floor.
in order to get the column to the floor, disconnect the brake light switch. and the column should be able to sit on the floor.
I did not take pics of the box tore apart, but follow the second link in there and there will be no surprises. the heater treater doors fit perfect. i replaced all the doors to include both top and bottom blend door. use the metal rod from the old blend doors for the new blend doors.
the old foam insulation that surrounded the openings was real bad and needed to be replaced. i went to lowes in the insulation section to buy adhesive backed foam insulation. it was 3/4 x 10'. real easy to put on, peel paper backing off and fit it to areas where the old foam insulation was. i used a heat gun to get the old glue off. for the most part it just peeled off easily.
just random pics of what your truck will look like when the dash is out. the HVAC system pulls out of the passanger side real easily.
make sure to vacuum out all the dirt and dust behind the dash.
here is the box back in place. i started with the three bolts in the cab for the HVAC, then buttoned up the nuts and bolts under the hood, coolant lines, A/c lines, then moved into the cab to put all the screws back into place.
before you bolt down the dash, ensure all your electrical connections are connected and your HVAC system works correctly. if you did everything right, then it will check out. finish putting all the screws into place and vacuum your AC and charge it.
all done!
