Yeah, LEDs are simple. Just either get 12v LEDs or the right resistors to use with 12v. How many, what color and where are you wanting to add them at?

I don't think that would work I want the led to stay on when the truck is locked . There is no power to it unless you open the door or you turn it on . I need to get a power source that is activated by the locking system almost like some of the cars that have the flashing led on the dash for the alarm system but I think those are activated by your ignition switch . So when the truck is off there is power sent to the led and when the truck is running the light goes off. I was just thinking of the door locks thinking that would be the easy may have to try something else.

Weed I'm wanting to put one led in each headlight so at night when my wife is in the parking lot looking for the truck because she can't remember were she parked she can see the headlights glowing from the led thats why I want them to come on when you lock the truck so they stay on while the truck sits locked and then when you unlock the doors the leds will turn of .

They make and sell dummy alarm LEDs on Ebay. Those may work for you. I know DEI makes a timed relay that will energize a device for X amount of time. I have one for sale and it is brand new. I was going to use it with my alarm but never did. As for what you are tring to do for your wife, why not tell her to use the panic button on the keyfob to locate the truck?

The panic button will work but on my truck by the time you get close enough for the panic button to work she is close enough to see the truck . I seen a guy with a chrysler 300 who install a blue led in each headlight houseing so that when the car was sitting locked in the parking lot the headlight glowed blue it looked cool and it was real easy to find it in a crowded parking lot I,m wanting to do the same thing . they do sell a remote box setup that you can use that comes with a key fob that I can get but then you would have two remotes for the truck one to lock and unlock the doors and one to turn on the leds on and off . Just trying to eliminate have two key fobs . I know the box setup works I have one for my leds on my motorcycle.May have to go that route if I can't figure this out .

Maybe something like a DEI branded alarm (Clifford or Viper) that has a high range system. My Clifford is high range and although it says 1 or 2 mile range, I know ive done it from about 1/4 mile at least.

I can lock/unlock or remote start it

Isn't there a LED on your dash that lights up, when you lock the vehicle? It's part of the immobilizer security system. I have the gray key, with the chip in it, and a red led illuminates when the system is armed. Maybe you could tap off that (if you have it)

why not have the led's on all the time, if it was in the headlight you wouldn't see it when the driving lights were on anyways
