Default Powersteering Leak

I have a 2006 Ram 1500 5.7l hemi 4x4 last night and this morning it was very cold -45C i drove the truck a block and lost my power steering i pulled over looked under the truck and it was gushing onto the ground, drained the system dry in seconds, today i filled the resvoir up (fluid did not leak by the cap) purged the system and try to find the leak and figure out what to replace and to my surprising it sealed up no leak i wondered if there was a blow off valve in case of over pressuring, i called the dodge dealer and they told me no. So i am stumped any ideas?

I just got my truck back from the dealership yesterday with a power steering leak. I thought my rack and pinion was shot but turns out it was the cooler lines so the ticket read. I honestly never realized the power steering system has a cooler system like the oil or tranny. Makes sense being the fluid is circulating in the system which creats some sort of friction. Mine was leaking heavily where the lines all meet on the driver side at the top of the rack and pinion. Doesn't leak now.....hope this helps. Josh

Yeah, there is no BOV or pressure relief valve on the PS anywhere. You need to go spray degreaser everywhere and hose everything down good and find where it leaked. If you drained the system dry in a matter of seconds then thats a good leak. But it only holds maybe 2-3 quarts in the holes system with maybe 1 qrt of that in the reservoir

mine started leaking randomly once. it was the line that went into the bottom of the reservoir that came loose. its got a and adapter between the line and the res and idk it worked loose i just tightened it up and filled it up and no problem. just something to check
