No tail lights.
2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins
Tail lights are the problem.
Drivers side tails everything works. Running lights, signals, brakes, reverse lights.
Passenger side everything BUT the running lights works. Signal, brakes, reverse.
Figure it's the bulbs right? Go to the dealer and buy new bulbs. Throw them in. Nothing.
Must be the fuse then right? Nope. Fuse is good. Even replaced for good measure. Nothing.
Next thought is the circuit board right? Go pick up an aftermarket board for $30. Put the bulbs in and plug it in nothing.
Aftermarket stuff is junk right? Odds are it's defective from the factory. Plug the drivers side tail light into the passenger side (the light that I know everything works on). Same problem.
Grab Mr Multi Meter. Check voltages at wire harness on drivers side and compare to passenger side. Every plug on passenger side is getting power (voltages coincide with the drivers side).
Check voltages with circuit board attached. Voltages are IDENTICAL on both sides.
Have tried every combination of bulbs and circuit boards (3 circuit boards and 8 bulbs). Nothing works.
This is just absurd..if it has power at the socket why don't the bulbs light up? Every other function of the light works.
No lamp out through any of this either. The wife notified me of the problem when I was pulling out of the driveway.
