Default floor jacks

Hey everybody, I just recently got a floor jack and jack stands that have a weight limit of two tons and my 06 1500 weighs in at 4500. my thought is that if you only have the jack under a portion of the truck at a time then you are good to go. so could i use this floor jack under my truck or should i bump up to a 3 ton, what do you all think?

You are right, but a 2ton is fairly small for a truck anyway. You will be fine changing a tire, but much more and you will be out of luck

Yeah you will be fine. I bought a 3 ton at harbor Freight years ago and still have it in use today
