heat ignition problem

Default heat ignition problem

Hello all when i start my 03 hemi the heater wont blow i play with the key in the ignition then it sometimes fan blows but not always but most of the time i have to play with the key and i also tryed a new key and still doing the same thing any helpers i also trying to take off the tilt steering lever are there screws under the rubber i only see a few holes no screws how do i get this off so i can take the plastic cover under the steering coloum

You already know your issue is in the ignition switch. So now all you need to do is replace it. The key isnt not the problem but rather the pins and contacts in the ignition switch itself.

Those holes in the bottom of the steering column cover have torx screws in them.

Clink on the link below in my signature and download the service manual for your 03. Then open it up and start at page 1803

so is it he switch not the key houseing because i called around and they said if its where the key gose i need new key also if it has a factory alarm it will be more expensive so i have been reading on here and everyone is saying switch where is the switch but i can see it beeing that because it works when i play with the key so i think its where the key gosein the houseing

Autozone has the ignition switch for $25. The part number is LS1144

Im in canada and its a dealer item because of the sercurity on the key fob

well i bought it cost 150.00 and it works thank you for your help
Now i noticed my dial on the heater where you adjust the controls the defrost and floor do not work only the ones that face you is there a fix for this and a how to
once again thank you

Sorry to hear about it costing so much but at least it is resolved. But seems you found other issues now.

Do a search on the site for heat issues or blend doors. Unfortunately, there are lots of threads on it.

Also check out our FAQs as there is some in there also about how to change the doors
