Default Disconnect Fog lights???

OK, had a fender bender (gal stopped in front of me for no known reason to me)...I have to replace the front bumper and associated parts...

In order to remove the bumper, I have to disconnect the fog lights. There is a plug on the driver's side, BUT, I can get the plug to come apart and I'm afraid to break it or pull the wire out.

Anyone have any thoughts/ideas on how to unlock the plug?

There looks to be a little red part that slides, I have tried to pull apart in both settings and it still will not unplug.

Thanks for any help.

either remove the fog light completely or maybe disconnect at the bulb?

The wire going from the plug goes to the light on the driver's side and then goes across the bumper to the passenger side. Unplugging the light won't help, thanks anyways.

I'm sure the plug is there for this purpose of removing/replacing the bumper.

I removed mine when i did my body lift but dont remember everything I unplugged at this point. Maybe going over to Performance Accessories website and downloading the instructions for the BL and going through the pics could help you out

The red part slides back a little ways, it does'nt slide completely out. Then you have to press on the green part between the red thing. Pressing on the green tab raises a catch the bulb catches on inside the green and red thing (socket i guess). It's gonna be really stuck in there and you gotta press hard and pull hard.....If you pull the bulb out without pressing the green thing down you'll break the catch and you'll have to replace the red and green thing cause it won't stay connected to the bulb.

OK, I have attached a photo. Maybe this will help.

The plug I am referring to is on the left and the wires from that plug go to the light/bulb on the right.

No problem unplugging the bulb.

Yeah, as said before, slide the red piece and then unclip the connector

It doesnt com apart. It slides in one direction, either backwards or to the left or right. If all else fails then cut it a few inches from the plug and use 3M heat shrink butt splices later to put it back together.

The red piece slides back and forth, but the connector does not uncouple...

It's kinda ironic that the part designed to disconnect does not come apart. I thought I might have to cut the wires but really did not want to since I thought the connector should slide apart.

I honestly thought I was missing something or there was a trick to get it apart.

Thanks for your help...
