Default Paint rubbed off

The guy I bought my truck from had the molded mud flaps installed, but did not have tape behind them where they meet the rockers. The back flaps aren't an issue, but there is a stripe on each side behind the front flaps where the paint has rubbed off. Has anyone else had this issue, and what is the most economical, and durable fix for this. I was thinking about the paint pen, and then getting the 3m tape, and reinstalling them, but I really wanted to remove them all together. that is how I found out about the paint in the first place.

I would lightly sand with 1500 grit wet, then use the paint pen/touchup paint then 2000grit wetsand with light pressure to even it up. Just leave the mudflaps off, they look like poop

Thanks, That's exactly what I did today. I just need to wetsand it tomorrow. Anybody want to buy some mud flaps?

I am putting molded mud flaps on my truck. What tape does everyone recommend putting behind them to avoid this problem?
