seat belt spring assy
I went to the dealer to have them check on my air bag light staying on they scanned the system and said the seat belt spring assy on the pasenger side was bad and it needed to be replace. They said the seat belt spring assy was $500.00 just for the part and charged me $50.00 just to scan the system and find the problem because I told them I didn't want it fixed now. My question is. Shouln't that be covered by Chrysler even though its out of waranty. This truck has 70,000 miles on it and I do have a bumper to bumper extented warranty but they said the warranty wont cover that. Its not a Chrysler waranty but I did buy the truck from a dealer and they sold me the waranty. This is a 06 Ram
Why should it be covered by them if it is out of warranty? LOL
Does the seat belt physically work and retract? Do you have a RC or QC?
I dont see this being the issue but you can take the B or C pillars off and take the seat belt out and inspect it. If you need a new one you can always find guys who have wrecked their trucks and are parting them out.

Its not covered buy the original factory waranty but I still have the used truck waranty thats bumper to bumper that wont cover it and its a QC I was just also thinking that since its part of the air bag curcuit it might be covered. Thanks for the reply
I had to have the driver seat belt assembly replaced in my 2007 Ram a few months ago. It got stuck in the pillar and would not come out. Out of convenience I went to the closest dealership to my house and was quoted $380 for the part alone. I walked out and drove further to the dealer where I bought the truck, and they did the job for $100, and they wrote it up as a warranty job. They told me it is expensive because of the link with the air bag system. There is a state out west where Chrysler is required to warrant the seat belt system longer than 3/36.
