I bought my truck with the sport package cause I got a really good deal on a new 04. How much trouble would it be to take off the sport stuff and replace with regular trim. And does anyone know what's involved?

I got the Hemi sport and I believe it has everything but the hood scoop.

 

Are you talking about the body color bumpers and grill and changing them back to chrome?

 

what don't you like about the sports package?

 

trying to figure out how hard it would be to find someone wanting to trade the regular chrome stuff for the painted sport stuff

 

Its just bumpers and grill. Go to the wrecking yard an buy some chrome stuff, that way if you dont like it you can always go back to the sport stuff. I dont think that too many people will swap because the color may not match quite right. Just because it is the same color doesnt meen that they will match, colors start to fade as well as differences from production. I puposely bought mine chrome because I live in the country and use my truck for a truck. I know that the bugs are alot harder to get off the paint than the chrome and that I would scrape that painted bumper in no time at all. anyway, it shouldnt be tough, just a few screws. The chrome surround and grill are just attached to the hood for your swapping pleasure.

 

Its a sport package and you dont like it? I really like the look the Hemi sport has. It makes the Rams look faster. Mine just a SLT but id love for it to been a Sport. Anways, just stating im surprised you dont like it.

 

I've wanna say I've read somewhere that there are different mounting brackets for the front bumpers depending whether they were sport or chrome. Can't say for sure though.

 

You should be able to find a chrome grill on EBay. Good luck with the bumpers, just keep hitting the junk yards. Unlikely you will find someone who will want to swap, while it would be easy for you to find a person with chrome that wants to give it up for painted chances are your parts will be the wrong color. Just buy the stuff and put your old items on Ebay and keep your fingers crossed.
