Default Hitch for a body lift

Sometime soon I will be having a 3in body lift installed on my truck but I dont want my hitch sittin down in the stock spot. Anyone have a link to where I can buy a hitch that will sit up a little higher?

Wont work because the hitch is mounted to the frame. Whats wrong with it where it is at? I have no issues with mine when towing and I think it looks fine

Im doing the body lift to put ground clearance between the body and ground. My hitch drags the ground when I go play in the hills.

Edit: I dont any serious offroading, I just like climbing steep hills and going where others cant get to me lol

Don't know of any. Might have to have a shop fab one up for you. I know they do winch mounts & tow hooks for the front for people with a body lift, so a tow hitch is do-able.
Just make sure it's a reputable shop. You don't need a bad weld failing on you when you are trailering something...

I may have to look into a custom one. The most I EVER trailer with this truck is my supra and tires. all together about 5500lbs including the 24ft trailer.

yea you are going to have to get a custom one. A fab shop might be able to cut the tubes, and flatten them out a little to bring it up a few inches. Not going to be easy either way and probably pretty expensive

If you could weld you might be able to swing it. Only problem is the bars come up at an angle so it might be too skinny if you cut 3" off.

I've been welding since I was 13 and wouldn't do a hitch. TOO MANY legal implications if it ever failed. I am sure if the insurance company got wind of it they would refuse to cover you in case of accident. I ain't even sure if you'd be covered if you had a certified weld shop make one...

To avoid the problem I think Ill just put 2in lift shackles in the rear. Ill have a rake again but I wont have to worry about going to jail....

thats why it doesnt seem worth the risk to raise it. I guess having an aftermarket one (like he asked for) would be more comfortable

Honestly, you might can find a stock one that is make higher than ours. Measure the frame rails and drop and see if you can find one at a pick and pull or something. Maybe another brand truck has a higher sitting bumper than us.

to solve the problem the right way without doing a custom hitch with me personally I would not tow 5500 Lbs. with a custom hitch thats me though lol do a suspension lift that will rise your hitch there problem is solved lmao
