Are you sure the new bulb was a good bulb? Is the bulb socket on the tail light in good condition with no corrosion or melting? You can try to download with Service Manual and use it to check the wires in the schematics.

The bulb was brand new and looked good. I did notice that the old bulb was melted a little on the plastic part. But the Sockets look fine, not corrosion.

You may need a new circuit board, It's the white piece that the lights plug into. I had to change the left one on my truck. It would light when I hit the key fob, wouldn't light up when I turned the lights on or hit the brakes.

Rayk3, that sounds like a logical answer. It was just confusing to me because, the light came on when the parking lights were on, but soon as brakes were applied the bulb went out. I reckon i can swap the circuit boards around to see if that illiminates the problem..

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Check how tight your harness is on the cirtcuit board. I had this problem and it turned out the harness just wasn't fully clicked into place.

Well you can use a test light or a meter to check the wiring and circuit board socket.
