Exclamation E3 spark plugs

My 04' Hemi Ram is way overdue for a tune up and I have been contemplating the E3 spark plugs. Has anyone tried these plugs yet in their Hemi? Please, if you haven't tried them then you cannot make an informed statement.

The last time I changed them was when I installed my ported heads at 44,000 miles (Zeus now has 80,000 miles). Since I have worked at dealers for over 20 years, I had access to free Champions (now Chrysler has moved on to NGK and Mopar uses Bosch). I still have some Champions, but with aproximately 450 horses, I'd like more power. Horsepower TV showed an 8 hp addition with these plugs, but I get conflickting opinions from previous users. If you've tried them, please tell me how they worked and what you think. Thanks.

Thumbs down Don't do it, you'll just have to do it again-

Perfect timing on this question, I just had to do mine again.

I have 2 hemi's in the family, and a few months ago took the plung and bought 32 of these suckers. I found a good deal and was pretty excited. I spent of few hours and invented some new profanities along the way, but nonetheless I got the job done and was pretty happy with the E3's.

Then a couple weeks ago, I noticed that the truck would run a little rough on start up, and then when I stabbed the throttle from time to time as most Hemi owners do, it started to stutter a little bit-hesitating rythmically as it accelerated. Then I got a Check Engine Light so I brought it in to my mechanic. He scanned it and told me that I had a misfire on my first cylinder. I sputtered over to Kraegen amd bough the last 8 OE Champion Coppers they had and dropped them in that night-problem solved.

Now, I notice that the truck is starting to run a bit rough again, most likely the remaining 8 I need to do. Not to mention that the Jeep,my other Hemi, is starting to expierence the same problems.

Long story short, don't waste your time or money on these things, they aren't any good. Didn't really notice any gains in HP or MPG when they were installed. And if you do decide to take a shot like I did, there's a good chance that you'll have to just pull them out and go back to the coppers anyway.

I'll second Cooljay's comments. I've heard to stick with the coppers for your Hemi's.

From what I have read; not counting the two comments above, not from any personal experience...stay away from them. They are Chinese junk!

What mods do you have? I'm curious at 450 ponies.

Agreed, too many Hemi owners complaints, about them E-3's. Now I don't beleive that thier all junk. I've used 'em in some of my cars over the years. I think it's just not a plus for the Hemi designed engine.

DO NOT USE!!!!! i used them on my 2nd gen 5.9.. they got soo hot it heat warped 4 exhaust valves and melted the plug and pitted the ceramic!! a friend put them in his 4.7 and had major problems also.. i refuse to put them in my hemi.. i ended up puttin new heads on the 2nd gen cause i found a good deal instead of rebuiling... do it 100% or not at all

lol, the plug choice went over my head (but don't use them anyways..) , I also want to know what mods you have that puts you at 450hp (to the wheels I assume), what kinda times are you puttin down? and if you are puttin down 450 hp's, I rather be reliable then burn coil packs...that's why i use ngk's (and so does the higher performance rams around)

You don't have to use something to make an informed statement if there is a ton of evidence out there from those who have saying something does or does not work. Just too many people who have used the E3 plugs in 5.7L engines with bad results to ignore it. Also, gimmick plugs never live up to the hype anyway.

Plugs do not give HP gains. Don't buy any plug and think it is going to give you more power. Just not happening. Not noticeable and useable power anyway.

450HP? Ok, what mod's have you done to add 105 HP to your 5.7L? If this is true than a plug other than stock( material and/or heat range )may be in order here.
