Default Question about 03 4x4 1500 brake calipers.

Recently while I was on holiday in the States, I took advantage of buying some spares for my truck over in the UK.
I went to a main dealership and ordered a full set front and rear brake calipers.
At the time I remembered asking why one of the front calipers was more expensive than the other when they are basicaly the same.
the "parts guy" told me he didn't know so I asked him to check the part numbers etc.
He said yes, the right and left calipers have different numbers and one of them (I cant remember if it was the left or right) was more expensive.
So.....trusting in this "parts guru" I purchased said calipers.

Now when I get around to painting them back home to fit on my truck.....I find one front caliper has what appears to be steel pistons and the other that plastic stuff/phenolic pistons.
My question is......can I install one streel caliper on one front side of my truck and the other plastic piston caliper on the other?
They are both brand new units.
The first pic is the steel unit and the second the plastic.

See this on the other site this morning but I dont think you will have any issues using it. They would not have made it that was if it was going to be a problem IMO.

No issues with performance. Phenolic pistons were used to prevent corrosion and thought to last longer then steel. Problem was, they chipped and broke from age and being pushed back in with large pliars.....

Thats very true about the "chipping".
That's why I bought these new calipers in the first place, as my originals have chips in them.

So you reckon I'll be OK to fit these mixed types on one axle then OldMoparMan?
I'm inclined to agree with Weed and think they should be OK.
