Default Truck banging shock question

I have an 05 ram 1500 4x4 and a year ago i replaced all 4 shocks with rancho 5000 shocks and i didnt notice any diff over the stock shocks. Im a daily driver and i never go off road and i was told the rancho shocks are more of an off road type shock and i wouldnt notice a diff from just normal driving. So now after a year im getting a banging noise when i go over any size bumps from small to big and i found that when i add weight to the bed like 2 50 pounds bags of play sand the banging tupe sound goes away. Do i need new stiffer shocks or? What a good shock for the daily driver?

Sounds like a suspension part is loose. The shocks shouldn't cause any banging if they're properly tied down.

Well it doesnt really bang, it just sounds like an empty bed making noise as if it was loose from the frame

If your getting that bed loose rattle sound I would lean more toward squeaky leaf springs over the shocks. Or possibly like mentioned above a loose shock mount bolt. I've had that before in my old chevy and it was about the same sounds as you described now that I think about it. Haha so first check your shock mounts.
