Q re Ram Daytona
Why pay for an overpriced Mopar CAI when there are equivalent in the aftermarket for less? Some that immediately come to mind are K&N, Airaid, Volant, etc... The money you save can be put towards an exhaust such as Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Borla, etc. There are also headers, chips, NOS, etc... Just take some time and search around the vendors found to the right and above the message boards. They have a multitude of stuff.
That's the reason for the question. Is it worth it? I know nothing of Mopar but do have some experience with Harley aftermarket accessories. With Harley you do not get the same quality from any of the aftermarket manufacturers that you get from Harley products. They cost more, frequently quite a bit more, but have always worked better, looked better, fit better, and lasted longer than any aftermarket stuff. So that takes me back to the original question: Is the Mopar product worth the money?
Get k&n 77 series they make the intakes for mopar. Not a big gain either but you'll noticed the sound. If you want a big gain get the headers and wait for a Superchip programmer. You should be at around 400+ hp
I've got a '05 Go ManGo! Daytona QC. Recently put the RamAir Charger (from ramaircharger.com) and have noticed a distinct difference in hp. Popped out the scoop template and ordered a polished billet scoop like the hood scoop. Also did the "reset the electronic throttle" thing, which made a helluva difference with the RamAir Charger. Ordered a retractable bed cover specifically for the Ram Daytona, to be installed next week. Am looking for a speed chip or programming device (which ever is better and won't void the warranty) to increase hp to 425. Currently HP estimated at 390 with the current install.
