Question Squeaking in Reverse Only

When I reverse my truck squeaks. The faster I go in reverse, the faster the sound, the slower I go, the slower the squeaking.

It doesn't squeak when I'm going forward.

I was told I need to grease my U-Joints......Impossible w/stock U-Joints. I was told I can drill & thread a hole then put a grease fitting on the joints.

Any ideas if this is the right direction to go?

Thanks,

I would not drill and tap. Although that is the right way to do it if you wanted to, drilling would push some metal shavings into it. Buying after markets that already have zerk fittings is the best solution.

I would check your E-brakes to see how they are adjusted. If they are dragging, you might get a squeel backing up. If the noise is indeed rotational meaning it pulses quiet/loud and is faster than one wheel revolution, then it's likely your u-joints.
This is something I would want to listen very carefully to near a brick wall and pay attention to how the squeel/sqeek noise comes/goes if it's fast or slow based on how often your tires are turning.
