thunking noise and thunking in steering wheel

I have a 2006 dodge mega cab 4WD and recently I started hearing and feeling a thunking sound in my steering wheel. does anyone have this problem or know what is causing this?

Welcome to the site. I doubt it is the steering wheel itself but rather a front end component failing and you are "feeling" the result through the steering wheel.
