Default 20" wheels

Hi People, i have an 04 ram hemi with 20" wheels from dodge, the clearcoat is starting to peel off and have been told that the wheels are painted and not alloy, is this true can anyone shed some light, they are the 20" five spoke that you see on most ram's.

Hey theres one really easy way to tell. Theres 2 different versions of the rim, the chrome clad and the aluminum alloy. Look along the edge of the rim at the lip.... Right where you would attatch a wheel weight... if you see a small gap there... than its the plastic chrome clad.... My 04 had the all aluminum ones and my friends 05 had the chrome clad ones....Also knock on them, if it hurts your knuckle its aluminum.... Listen to the sound you can tell a metal one wont make much noise... and the plastic one will... well... sound like plastic.
Hopefully this helps, the one tell tale way though is the first way ... look for the gap.

Stock wheels are not painted. You can get them stripped and re-cleared or completely stripped and painted
