I bought a 2006 dodge 1500 4.7L last year. My wife had been using it more then I was, but I recently bought her a car. Since the truck is now in my control I'm trying to find the best ways to increase my fuel mileage.

I don't want to go nuts throwing all kinds of money into it, well I want to but I can't afford to.

I'm looking into getting a cold air kit, programmer, exhaust stuff like that. From what I've read these are easy ways to see mpg gain. Any suggestions that won't break the bank are appreciated.

I've done intake, exhaust and programmer, and I don't see a difference that would warrant the cost of the upgrades. I might get 1-1.5mpg more IF I stayed out of the throttle, which I don't. It would take a long time for the cost of the mods to pay for themselves in gas. You want bang for your buck, do the E-fan mod. City MPG should go up noticeably.
