superchips vs diablosport
So im looking at buying a programmer! I will have full exhaust and cold air intake for the time being, Looking to do a cam in the near future! Can both tuner allow me to adjust my WOT shift time and rev limit and get rid of the governor without paying for a tune? Which do you suggest?
Here is a video of a superchips having difficulty shifting at 6200RPM which is where I want to raise mine too

You have a BIG decision to make. I WAS in your shoes...
The SC, doesn NOT allow for custome tuning, meaning you have to be REALLY careful about what cam you use. If that cam requires even the slightest idle bump to work, you are f*cked with the SC. However, the SC gives very good transmission support and allows for FULL WOT shift point control as well as full torque management.
The Diablo can be custom tuned, great for getting a cam, but DOES NOT support the '04 transmission AT ALL, meaning not only can you not adjust shift points, but you don't even get line pressure increase, like the SC canned tune gives, resulting in the same "mushy" shifts as stock.
The best answers so far is to use the SC for the better "canned" tunes and get a piggyback controller for the cam, like a PSC1-003 to tune the cam or run a Superchips in combo with an SCT tuner which can be custome tuned. Like the Diablo, the SCT does not support '04 trannies. I dunno the specifics of running the two tuners in combo, but it has been done...

Alright so if I want to raise my shift point to 6200 i need the SC. Has anyone raised is and had a problem with shifting like the video I posted above? I just hate how the truck currently shift from 1st to 2nd and is out of the powerband by a few 100 RPM and has a bit of a bog. Also can I remove second prime with the SC? I hear this is the big problem with why our trannys dont last
I haven't had any issue's with no shift conditions. I bet that's only on the 09+ programming, because that's and 09+ dash.
No 2nd prime is NOT changeable in either programmer. You can set your shift points up so to avoid 2nd prime as much as possible. 2nd prime is also used in O/D off and tow/haul which makes no sense at all. That came straight from Chrysler Engineers mouths to my eyeballs when we had the chat session awhile back.
Please use the Sticky's at the top of the page to address specific programmer questions as both Superchips and Diablosport have all the answers within their threads.
