Ok guys here is my problem. I have a 02 ram 1500 4.7, quad cab. 1. the ac is leaking from somewhere tried the dye with the uv light, tryed the super seal(the one they sell at autozone for 30 bucks), and it's still leaking it from somewhere refilled it 5 days ago and now its warm again. Any ideas? 2. whenever I turn the ac the compressor make this loud fast knocking noise, if i have the air on is fine, if I push the button for the ac I get the noise. Could this two problems be related. Any help is appreciated. summer is coming and I live in Florida.

The knocking is because your engageing the clutch to run the compressor. it knocks because of lack of oil. Freon has a percentage of oil mixed in which lubricates the pump. Dumping in can after can will yield inconsistent results and could even put in too much freon per unit of oil. It's ssuppose to be an exact mix which is why the can stuff at the stores is not as good as the local Valvoline or Jiffy Lube. Their machines put the exact amount in.
You may have done damage to the compressor by running it dry or you atleast have contamination of particles in the system. Nothing knocks without creating some sort of damage. I would get a complete seal kit and start changing all your seals. Bring it down and have it purged and re-filled. If it were me, I'd get a reman'd compressor before spending all that time and money. That is up to you though. if you didn't run it long at all when it was knocking, then your probably fine.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. the compressor was fine (no knocking) until I added 1 can of oil and 3 cans of Freon. A week later no AC, I checked the system and it was empty and thats when it started knocking, I put in the uv dye and no leaks at all so now I'm thinking that maybe the leak is in the cabin, inside the black box, is that possible? Oh yeah I also added 1 can of oil (again) thinking that it might need some, but it still knocks. I'm runing out of ideas.
