cold air intake help

Default cold air intake help

I just installed a CAI on my 2002 4.7 ram 1500
install was easy and fast
however in the directions it says to unhook the NEG battery cable for one hour at my own risk to reset the ecm
is unhooking the cable really needed
thanks folks

By resetting the PCM, you are speeding up the re-learning process in how the PCM will react to the air flow/air temp changes made by the CAI. This is not a necessary step as the PCM will learn without being reset, just may take a tank of gas or two.

There are other methods to resetting the PCM without having to disconnect the battery. Check the FAQ section...
