Power locks keep blowing fuse
Alright, it's been a while since I've posted but I haven't had any problems...until now. My power locks stopped working, I then replaced the blown fuse, but only the drivers side doors would unlock. Neither of the passenger doors would do anything when I hit the lock or unlock button on my keys, or unlocking it from inside with the lock/unlock button. I then drove for less then five minutes, and the fuse was blown again. I'm guessing there's a short somewhere, but where? If it helps, I have a sticky window lock button so I have to hit the button repeatedly to unlock the windows. Thanks in advance!
Could be a wire being pinched to ground. That sticky button could be a valuable clue. You should look into why it's sticky. The term "sticky" when applied to a control can have multiple meanings - pressing repeatedly is a sign of corrosion on the switch. Actual reluctance of the button to move is a sign of something syrupy in the switch assembly.
The switch module is fairly easy to work on. I just fixed mine a couple of weeks ago for the "passengers can't open/close the window" syndrome. While I had it apart, I buffed the window contacts with an emery board to remove some corrosion caused by arcing.
