Question Newbie Here Need Engine Help

Ok this is gonna be long but im gonna tell the whole story.
My dad bought his 03 ram 1500 4.7 new. Has run mobile 1 synthetic sense new. Oil changes ever 5-7k. It has 171k miles on it. He has replaced water pump and the radiator thru out the yrs and that is it. He was driving 1 day it it started to over heat so he pulled of and shut it off. No codes. Water was poring out the water pump. It wouldnt start. Next day i changed the water pump, got it to start but was making a very loud top end tapping on drivers side. Towed it home removed drivers side head and a valve seat had fallen in and destroyed the head and messed up the piston a little, probably alot by some standards. The engine looks brand new on the inside. The head gasket looked fine, no water, oil mix at all. Pulled the oil pan very clean down there 2. Replaced the haed and seals and gaskets. Cranked right up but ran rough. Took for test drive, cleared up a little then stalled at stop sign. Cranked back up and it was the same noise as b4 but on the passenger side. Drove it home repaced the other head. Cranked it, ran like **** for 5 sec shut off. Wouldnt start again. Pulled a camshaft sensor code, so i furgured i messed up the timing. Took it all apart again. Timing was 180 out, had set it to the wrong stroke. Put it back together. Had to put the the gas to the floor for it to start. Runs like Sh*T, have to keep it between 1500-2000 rpms or it will shut off.

WE REALY NEED HELP WITH THIS..... thanxs Shawn

Forgot to mention that i think its running rich. There is white smoke that smells like gas coming out the intake. Could the timing still be messed up? Is there a easier way of checking it then taking it apart again?

White smoke is usually coolant. Perhaps it's time for some leak-down and compression testing.

When 4.7's over heat they usually crack the heads. You are not going to see the crack 9/10 times just by looking at it. You need to have the heads cleaned and fluxed.
