Default EGR codes

I have an 07 Ram 1500 v8 5.7 hemi

A few weeks back the engine light came on. Reading 5 or 6 codes all EGR related. Today I changed the EGR valve and reset the code with my reader. Light went off briefly but came right back on. Went to shop and had them read code and reset. Again went off briefly and came back on.

Now it's showing 2 codes, both P0405 EGR POSITION CIRCUIT LOW.

Looking for suggestions on how to proceed?

-unplug the egr connector.
-key on, engine off
-with a voltmeter check the voltage at all 3 terminals...don't jamb a large terminal into the connector or it will spread the pins. if the dvom probe is to big, strip some stranded wire and slip the wire into the pins.
-report the voltage on each pin and wire colour for the pin.
