Thumbs up New Member Introduction!

Hey guys (and gals)! I'm new here and just purchased an '02 Dodge Ram 1500 CC, 2WD with 106k on the clock. 4.7 and it runs perfect! She's got some dings here and there but is really a nice truck. My first Dodge to own and I LOVE IT!! Today I went to have it realigned bc it pulls to the left. Well as you've all probably guessed by now, I need ball joint replacements. They want $1200.00 to replace 2 lower and 1 upper. They have lost their minds! I am somewhat mechanically inclined. Do most of my wrenching on anything I own and after going through the archives for ball joint replacement I think I'll give it a shot. Will be prepared will all parts (will replace all 4 ball joints while I'm at it) and tools before I commit to the job. A lot of very informative info in the archives relating to this. Seems like a great forum and am glad to be a part of it. I look forward to participating!

P.S. I'm thinking MOOG as for as parts brand. Any other recommendations?

Steve

Welcome to the forums

I've heard good things about MOOG balljoints, but I'm not sure if they are serviceable or not? I don't know if that's something you care about, but it's a deal-breaker for some. Why not make the repair an upgrade? LoL

BJs are easy to change out.

Check out www.rockauto.com for your parts selection and get the Moogs.

The lower BJ comes by itself whereas the upper comes in the control arm. Also check your tie rods, wheel bearing hubs and sway bar links

Moogs are serviceable and have zerk fittings for adding grease
