Default 2004 Ram 4WD has mind of it's own

Sorry if this has been covered but after hours of reading, I can only find similar issues and nothing exactly like what I have going on and I'm getting desperate.

My 2004 Ram 1500 5.7 randomly shifts itself into 4WD while driving. I was able to get it out the first few times and drive normal until recently. It got to where it wouldn't go back to 2WD. After hours of reading I went out and pulled a vacuum line and it went into 2WD. I immediately pulled the fuse for the four wheel drive module so it wouldn't randomly shift on me and put the vac line back on. Yesterday I got stuck and had to put the fuse back in. Without turning the **** on the dash it istantly shifted into 4 hi according to the dash indicator. I got out of the mess I was in and went through the last process I used to get it out of 4WD and it didn't work. What do I have to do to get it to disengage for now, and what do I need to replace to make it work properly? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Most posts say that it was the fusebox corroding that causes 4wd issues. Which vacuum line did you pull to get into 2wd? My trucks been getting stuck in 4wd

I haven't been able to find any corrosion anywhere. I can hear it trying to shift when I turn the key on but it hangs up and kicks back. I pulled the only vacuum I could find above the transfer case. Can't figure why it worked the first time but won't now. I've exhuasted every effort without replacing anything. I guess I'm going to cross my fingers and replace the transfer case motor.
