Default debadge problem

i recently bought a 2005 ram to replace my original 2005 ram, old one had too many problems, i started to debadge it today and found alot of buildup on the paint under the badges. this truck is silver and the buildup is black. you can still see the lettering because of this buildup. what can i use or due to strip off this buildup without killing the paint.
