forgot to mention my wife crashed my truck 2,000 miles after i bought it .... it has/had frame damage and front end damage not sure if this contributes to the problem. could it be a damaged steering shaft that is failing bc of this? oh did i mention she is not allowed to drive it anymore. paid 10,900 for the truck in 08 with 20k on it when gas prices were high, total costs for repair was $17,700! i was litterally begging them to total it as i would have just bought another and have made money! thanks mike

Must have been some pretty bad damage. Why not take it to a front end shop and let them inspect it and tell you what is wrong and then replace the parts yourself and take it back to them for the alignment?

i actually did a few months back and they said everything was ok, said they could not hear the popping or play in the wheel. i went for a free alignment, have the lifetime alignment with firestone. i gave the impression that i was looking to get it fixed but in the end they did the alignment and said i had a nice truck.

The damage was 17,700 and they didn't write it off?!?!? Here in Canada, if the damage is more than 75% of what the vehicle is worth, it's bye-bye.

yeah i got it at cost bc my father in law is a car dealer along with the gas prices at the time i got it really cheap. the downside is that the book value on it was well over what i paid for it and my wife crashed it right after i bought it. the kicker is that the bodyshop/insurance company said after all of the work was done that if they had known of the price/amount of damage it would have been totalled! wtf! now i have on my vehix report that it was in a major collision and has frame damage . my wife was driving over a bridge and lost control on black ice and ended up 180 degree's backward and was then hit by incomming traffic that could not stop bc of the ice, luckily she and my dog were ok but not my truck. did i mention she is not allowed to drive it anymore!

Well, as long as the wife and dog were ok, that's all that matters. Looks like the ol' dodge protected the precious cargo!

They run $149 unlimited around my area.

OP, maybe there is an issue with your Rack internally and that it isn't being seen. Sure it can be aligned, but that doesn't mean it's fixed as you know.
