Ok my buddy has a 2003 4.7 4x4 and he said the truck just randomly shuts off, then other times under wot it just starts sputtering and wants to kill the truck. Anybody got any ideas?

 

Tune-up for starters. Plugs are rarely kept up in these trucks since they need replacing every 30kmi. IAT valve for the shutting off. I'm guessing it's shutting of when he's braking and slowing down? If not then he's got other issue's.

 

Nope it's shutting off when he's getting on it, sometimes when he's just cruising.

 

sounds like lack of fuel. pump and/or filter.

 

He said the little flap where you put the had nozzle in fell in the tank. Could that do it.
