Dakota guy need help w/gears
Im looking to put a set of 4.10's in my 2006 dakota but a guy in the g3 dakota section said that 4.10 might not fit. Any of you ram guy have 4.10's in the 8.0in front diff?
I don't HAVE them yet, but I will have 4.56 in the future. Moes has kits specifically for the front and rear combined of 1500 trucks in ratios from 3.92 up to 4.56...They also have seperate kits for front/rear. I also know that plenty of guys here do have 4.10 and 4.56 in their 1500's.

Last I know'd, the gears in the 8.0 IFS front Daks were reverse cut while the gears in the Ram 8.0 are standard cut - not interchangeable.
You can verify this by looking at the pinion. If it is above the centerline of the axle, then the gears are reverse cut, if this is still the case, then anything a Ram owner can tell you won't apply...

This claims that they are the same in both.

Well we had an old boy 'round here with a Dak who I sent to my 4x4 shop who specializes in gears who told him they couldn't get none for the front 'cause they was reverse cut. I know this Dak was a '98 or '99 though, which is why I said "Last I know'd" in my first post...
