Lift Help / ideas
I have a 06 ram 4x4 big horn. I have the Tuff Country 2" leveling kit. I want to raise my truck a little more though with out getting the full lift kit. My front struts are also going out, so i will replace theese too. Wondering if anyone has any good ideas to do this for cheap, im thinking small blocks in the back to raise the back more, but dont know what else to do in the front to raise it more.
Thankyou
Thankyou
Well, unless you did a body lift, which is cheap enough at around $350, any other type of lift in the front would require you to remove the 2" spacers, any more "level type" lift added puts the angles too high in the front and puts the CVs at a really bad angle and significantly weakens tie rod ends and ball joints.
Where the "true" suspension lift has parts included to beefen up weak components and bracketry to keep angles at or close to stock.
You might could get away with spindles, but if it were me, I'd nix the blocks in the back and do a simple 3" body lift in combo with your existing spacers. Would keep the truck level and take the whole thing up another 3", while putting no additional strain on steering/suspension components up front over what the spacers are doing now.
Simple enough install in the driveway with basic tools, a jack and a set of stands although I'd plan on a full weekend with a buddy if you've never done one before. A body lift, to me anyway, is a whole series of small, simple tasks, just a bunch of them...
