Default My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 is making a whining noise when I accelerate

My 2005 dodge ram 1500 quad cab has started making a whining sound while accelerating, the whining doesn't start until I reach 40 mph but then gets worse the faster I go. The sound seems to be coming from the rear portion of the truck, I have checked the rear differential and its fine. I originally thought that it may be a wheel bearing but the whining stops when I release the accelerator, doesn't matter how fast Im going. Anyone have any ideas or input?
