Unhappy Need help CV driveshaft stuck to axleshaft????????

I am trying to remove my front drive axle.....but it looks like it is stuck on the actual axleshaft inside the diff. I cannot get the drive axle off as it is pulling the axle out of the diff with it.
Is there a C clip inside the diff that has fallen out???? The axleshaft should not do this.

Anyone seen this problem or have any ideas.

You can pull out the stub-shaft with the CV joint without causing any problems, it will pop back in. Once it's out you can put it in a vice or beat on it in more creative ways.

If you're replacing the cv-joint, last resort you can pull apart the boot and disassemble the joint itself, then punch out the stub shaft with a punch or chisel (You'll have to make a hole in the end, there's a thin cap between the shell and the shaft). That's what I had to do, hopefully you have better luck.

I have taken the front diff cover off and when I try to pull out the CV driveaxle you can see the whole axleshaft moving out of the gear set. What is there to stop the axleshaft from coming out with the driveaxle

The CV driveaxle is stuck onto the axleshaft in the differential.

Oh ya it is on the passenger side (long side) if this is what you mean by pulling out the stub shaft (short, drivers side).

Anyone know where to find an exploded view of a front differential???????
