Default 2003 Ram 1500 stalling, cutting out, etc.

We bought our 2003 1500 ram 4wd r door new. during the first 30,000 miles, the truck would lose power - at any speed or condition - and run rough for a few seconds, then just die. It was towed in to the shop at least 6 times. Finally, they replaced the fuel pump in the gas tank and the problem disappeared - until we hooked up our camper to go for a weekend and noticed that the gas tank fell off the truck and was mostly on the driveway when I did my pre-leaving walkaround. This truck has been a nightmare. Now, just out of warranty, the rear wheel wells are rusting horribly. Anybody know of wheel well covers I can install (need to be cover about 6 inches of wheel well) after I fix the rust problem?

Gas tank fell off the truck after work being done = careless mechanic. There are retrofit rear wheel well cover kits from Mopar for 3rd gen rams.

Please add to your profile your year/make/model.

As for the tank, as said, the not/bolt just eventually vibrated loose. Just put it back and add some loc-tite.

Im assuming you have rust because you live up north where they love to lay sand and salt? When it comes to that you just have to do good maintenance and lots of washes and cleaning.

You can buy full rear wheel liners though from the dealer or ebay.
