Default 2004 2500 Heavy duty hemi 4X4 ball joints

When I replace my upper and lower ball joints do I need to remove any other wheel parts other then the tire in order to comfortably replace them or can I do it with just the tire off? I just got done replacing all brakes and rotors, 4 new tires, both sides hub bearings and I just found that one ball joint on the drivers side is bad.Thank you very much for your assistance.

Welcome to the site.

To remove the BJs you should remove the brakes, tire, wheel hub and spindle as well as sway bar links and tie rods. In order to get to the BJ the spindle has to come off and to get that off everything else has to come off.

Dont forget the alignment afterwards

If you decide to do the work, you may want to pick up a set of front axle u-joints and axle seals too, you'll be right there

Thanks again for the help. It only took me about 4 hours to do the ball joint job. The top joint had to be burned enough with cutting torch to knock it out. Luckily I had someone who knew how to use a blow torch. They were quite a tough job I must say. Only had time to replace the bad left side. Kept the parts for the right side for future use.
