I'm new to the forum and hope this post is in the right forum.
I bought a 2002 ram 2500 cummins diesel late last year and I need to replace the 8' bed with another one, (the old one is in pretty bad shape). I found a complete 8' bed from a 1999 ram 2500 Diesel that's in much better shape but I'm not sure if it will be able fit my 02. According to the dealership beds from 97 to 02 will fit but when I contacted a couple of junk yards they state 02 to 08 beds will fit.
I was hoping that someone from the dodge forum might know which mode year bed will work on my truck.

You are recieving 2 different answers because 2002 Ram was the New style truck but had the old gas engine/trans. The 2003 was the start of the 5.7L Hemi. This has nothing to do with you, but is why you get 2 diff answers.

 

94-02 2500, 3500 are the same so yes a 99 2500 bed will fit a 02 2500.
See in 2002 dodge released the 1500 under the new 3rd gen body style and left the 2500, 3500 body the same style as the 2nd gen up to 2003
