6 Inch Lift but ended up with almost 8?
I installed Fat Bobs 3 inch coil Black spacers and also Matix sports 3 inch lift spindles on my 2003 Ram 2wd 1500. I also used 3 inch rear blocks but now it has that Baja look. I want an even look but will 5 rear blocks achieve this or should I add a leaf spring? I want the best riding option.
Also will I need to replace the stock rear shocks like I did on the front (ProComps or will stock 2500 shocks be long enough for the rear)? Looks like I will also need a a caster/Chamber kit up front to align my Rig.
Any suggestions would be great...
Thanks,
Mike in South Cali

3in coil spacers netted 5in? sounds unlikely...are the springs seated in the bucket?
I would get a set of 2nd get lowering shackles for the 2in. You will need longer shocks, I got stock 3rd gen 4x4 2500 shocks

My suggestion, don't buy pro comp shocks, complete garbage IMO. Also if you are going to lift the back, you might need to shim the rear-end up towards your tranny to avoid vibration when you drive. As far as shocks you can't go wrong with Bilsteins, I run the 5100 series on my rig and what an amazing difference over stock.
What year 2500 shocks did you get
Looks like it settled down to about 7 inch in the front. Hey Arctodus can you elaborate on the shimming the rear for vibration? Thanks still on the fence about going with 5 inch blocks for the rear or just add a leaf spring and I agree Pro Comp shocks ride like it has no suspension, going to get me some stock 2500 or Bilsteins. Anyone have a part number for the Bilsteins?
Update: Just installed a set of 4 inch Blocks and it looks pretty level... No vibration thus far.. Thanks for all your help!

when you lift the rear suspension of the truck with blocks you are moving the suspension up but the differential sits at the same spot, relatively.. In that scenario the angle between the tailshaft of the transmission or transfer case (if you're 4x4) and the differential becomes greater. As the angle gets steeper you put more strain on the ujoints and bearings.. In some cases you will get vibrations or as Jeep guys call them "the angry sparrows".. you'll know it when it happens..
by shimming he means rotating the differential slightly to decrease this angle and subsequently solve the issue of vibrations/humming.
