2006 Ram 1500 4.7 V8 Wont Start
I have a 2006 1500 with the 4.7 v8. I have only had it for about a month. It has 74k on it. The check engine light was on so we checked the code and it was P0128. We replaced the coolant temperature sensor and 2 days later the truck is now having issues starting. It is not doing it all the time. The starter is in gauging but it won't turn over. The temp gauge is still not working after replacing the sensor. It seems to only have the starting issues when it is warmed up. If the engine is cold it starts. I took it to the local auto parts store today to check the code, as the light is still on. It is still showing the P0128 and there are 2 others that are only ones a Dodge dealer can read. The starting issue is getting worse. When it first started I was able to get it going by pumping the gas pedel, now it is not working so well and after a few times of trying to start it the check engine light starts flashing. I had a guy tell me it was the idol air control valve, but the auto parts store is saying that it is the crank shaft sensor or the cam shaft sensor. Can someone please help me so I can get this fixed? Thank you.
Im confused. You say it wont start. You said the starter is engaging but the engine isnt turning. The you say it will start and run?
Pumping the gas pedal will do nothing. This is not a carb fed engine but EFI meaning no fuel from the pump unless the engine is running.
Crank case and cam sensors have a error code of thier own. Did you ever run this engine hot?

The starter is working. I had someone check it out, because to me it sounded like it wasn't working. They said it is. I am not sure if it is doing good but it seems like when I pump the gas pedal it is more likely to start than if I dont and just turn the key. I have run the engine hot and when I turn it off it wont start. It takes a while to get it to start. It was starting fine cold, but I got in it this morning to come to work and it had a little bit of a issue starting but started with really no problem. I know this is all very confusing, it is to me too. Any help would be great.
