Is the factory style reciever hitch safe to use ? I bought a 2005 1500 and I need to buy a reciever hitch. I see the factory one for $80, but should I get a regular reese hitch ?
From your pic it looks like the cheap aftermarket hitch. It only bolts to the bumper thus only having the tow capacity of the bumper and not the frame.
That's the MOPAR hitch. It's rated the same as the one installed at the factory. That's what I have. Guess I didn't see anything weak looking about it.
